The first day of school can be exciting, scary, overwhelming, and confusing for young children. Even when children are ready for school, they can have some anxiety about the new situation whether the situation is only a new classroom or coming to a new school for the first time. We want children to feel comfortable and relaxed as soon as possible. Families can help by acknowledging that it can be scary for their children to start something new and by allowing plenty of time for the transition into the classroom for the first couple of days.

 

Don't forget to bring an extra change of clothes to keep at our center!
